Calexico Health Center is pleased to include the Child Health and
Disability Prevention program (CHDP) as one of its services. Funded
by the State of California this program allows low-income children
and youth to have access to preventive health care services.
Children can benefit from this program by having scheduled physicals
throughout their childhood starting at 2 weeks of age and until they
turn 19 years old. These physicals include hearing, vision, and
normal growth and development screening. Tests for anemia and lead
poisoning are included. Also, in conjunction with the Vaccines For
Children program (VFC) the CHDP ensures that children are immunized
when needed. All these services are available at no-cost for
children who are Medi-Cal eligible or uninsured. |
