Larry Lewis became part of the Pioneers family on September 6, 2012. He comes to Pioneers from Kingman Regional Medical Center, located in Kingman, Arizona, where he served for 13 years in various executive management positions, including CFO, COO, and most recently as chief administrative officer.
Larry received his Bachelor of Science degree in business and accounting from Arizona State University and obtained a Master’s degree in health administration from the University of Colorado – Denver. He has extensive healthcare executive background in the southwest, serving communities similar to that of the Imperial Valley.
Kristi Gillespie MS, RN has been an employee of Pioneers Memorial since 2010. She has assumed increasing leadership responsibility since joining the staff. She most recently served as the Director of Medical Surgical Services and was the Interim Chief Nursing Officer in 2016. In addition to her nursing credentials, Gillespie holds a Master of Science Degree, in Nursing with a concentration in Nursing Leadership & Management. Previously, she has worked as a Registered Nurse in the Medical Surgical, Definitive Observation and Intensive Care Units at Pioneers Memorial where she was responsible for the total care of adults with medical, surgical, neurological, and cardiac disorders.
Gillespie stated that she accepted the CNO post because of the rich tradition of nursing and compassionate service that is a hallmark at the Pioneers Memorial Healthcare District in Brawley.
Robert Brown became part of the Pioneers family on March 28, 2016, he comes to Pioneers from Western Arizona Regional Medical Center in Bullhead City, Arizona. While in Bullhead, Robert served as the Human Resources Director for 8 years. In that position he had operational assignments, which included Pharmacy, and the Emergency Department.
Robert received his Bachelors of Arts degree in Political Science and Master’s degree in Organizational Change from California State University, East Bay in Northern California. He has extensive healthcare experience, which includes working at Kaiser Permanente, Tenet Health, HCA, and CHS. Robert has spent time in Asia as the VP of Human Resources for a heavy equipment company, and at Riverside County leading the project to implement PeopleSoft as their enterprise system. Robert’s experience extends to community service organizations like the Lions Club, Rotary Club and Masons. During his career Robert has served on multiple boards and commissions throughout the State of California.
Roger Armstrong joined Pioneers Memorial Healthcare District in February 2014 as the Interim Chief Financial Officer as was made the permanent Chief Financial Officer on November 1, 2015. As the CFO for Pioneers Memorial Healthcare District, Roger is responsible for the District’s Accounting operations, Revenue Cycle Management, Purchasing and Health Information Management. Roger has an extensive background in Healthcare Financial Operations having held key management positions with nationally recognized investor owned (for profit ) as well as not for profit health care systems located in Texas, Arizona and Illinois. Roger is a graduate of the University of Houston and holds a Master Degree in Business Administration from Houston Baptist University. He holds Black Belt Certification in 6sigma Project Management and process improvement techniques and is an advanced member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association.
Aracely Smith, CHPC, CHC attended the University of San Diego, where she received her Bachelors of Arts. Aracely is certified as a Special District Board Secretary/Clerk and in Healthcare Privacy Compliance.
